The new and anticipated HTC U Ultra will start pre-orders in march, but a TWRP beta port has just been made public.

Okay, first of all it needs to be explained what the hell TWRP actually is.TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) is an app that offers hardcore Android smartphone users quite a few features, including a way to flash custom ROMs, install ZIP-file-based updates, create and restore backups of ROMS and much more. It has recently been made available in the App Store.

Well however, this version is not an official one, as i mentio0ned before it’s a beta Version made bye the respected XDA developer @Captain_Throwback. With that in mind you should know that there could be some missfunctionality in the recovery options, howere it allows you to get TWRP 3.0.3-1 on your HTC Ultra U the moment you get it in your hands and the dev promised to fix the issue with the reboot recovery as soon as they can get the kernel source.

Well if you’re planning to do it be sure to check out XDA first , since they got a lot of reading material and insturctions that help you not to mess up your device. And as always, back up your stuff first.

According to the german Facebook Page from HTC , the Update to the latest Android Software will start rolling out today for the HTC One M9.

All Users of the HTC One M9 , that use a non-branded Version, will start to receive the Update to Android 7 including Sense8 starting today. That is what HTC posted on their german facebook page. So if you own one just check it out. It comes as a suprise to me that HTC updates the M9 before the HTC 10, but i guess there is a strategy behind that we simply don’t understand. Well long story short: just go and get your Android 7 Update today.

HTC is facing the worst April in 6 years, could the M9 be the culprit ?

The new financial figures that have been provided by HTC are, unlike those from Q1, not so great, even though they take the launch of the One M9 into account. But the demand for said device was not as high as expected, giving HTC the worst financial figures in April that the company had in the last 6 years. In actual numbers it’s as follows. The consolidated revenue was up to NT$13.5 billion (around US$449 million) this April, this sounds much, but it’s actually a loss of 33% compared to the numbers posted in March and an even more smashing loss of 39% compared to last year. This is the lowest monthly revenue since April 2009, which was at NT$11.4 billion.

Usually April was one of the big months for HTC, since it’s always flagship time during April. So this low figures can be blamed on the HTC One M9, which apparently was not that much desired by the consumer following it’s launch in March.

We will see if that trend continues or if HTC will find their strength back in the next generation of HTC One, which hopefully will be a bigger surprise than the M9, which , in my eyes, was basically the M8 with very small improvements.
