The finnish Company Nokia closed the Deal with Alcatel-Lucent, for $16.6 Billion.

Alcatel-Lucent

In the last few weeks there has been a lot of talk around the possibility of Nokia purchasing the french Company Alcatel-Lucent, and now the Deal has finally been confirmed. For the rather high sum of $16.6 billion (that’s twice the amount that Microsoft paid for Nokia’s D&S division) are those companies now one, this is the second network and telecom company that nokia bought after acquiring their former Partner Siemens.

This purchase leads to the assumption that Nokia is now focussing their work on one of their strong suits, networking, and also the providing of 5G Networks. But with this move another thought comes to mind, could that be one step closer to more Android-powered Nokia Devices? After all, Alcatel-Lucent is an Android OEM. We will keep a close eye on what will be coming from this new Union.
