Owners of the OnePlus 3 and 3T listen up, there’s a new OS in town: the Nougat based HydrogenOS.

The Android 7.0 Nougat OS for the OnePlus 3 and 3T has been released, but it’s not OxygenOS , this time it’s called HydrogenOS 3.0 . It’s not an OTA installation, and you need to flash and override the existing OS. The new Nougat version comes without any kind of Google apps , so you need to get your hands on thos too and is only available in english and chinese. The OS has been grabbed from the chinese versions of the OnePlus 3 and 3T and therefore it will come with a bunch of chinese apps you should just delete.

Users who tried it report that it has a better battery life and that you now have an inbuilt call recorder. The ROM has about 1.3 GB and you can get it from XDA or OnePlus . Both Links include ways to get the PlayStore, and if you encounter any Problems, there are a bunch of threads at XDA already. Exactly one year ago, on April 23rd 2014, OnePlus announced the OnePlus One.

Always impressive how fast time goes by and that it is already one whole year since the we could first gaze upon the OnePlus One, announced as the „Flagship Killer“. And with that in mind, the small company that gave us this device is now celebrating the first birthday of their baby, and we get the presents. First things first, the company give us quite a few presents and one of them is a nice recap on how everything began and other things related to the successful story of the OnePlus One, the next presents we get are discounts. The OnePlus one will be 1$ (or the equivalent in your currency) cheaper. Yeah it’s not much but look more at the gesture and not the Amount. For the People that want to save more and already own one, OnePlus is giving 50% discounts on all the OnePlus One accessories and apparel. So head over to their site and celebrate with them.

The new Manufacturer OnePlus is aiming high for 2015: 2 new Devices are planned and a goal of 3-5 million sales.

Even though some of their methods were quite questionable, like the invite system for the inital smartphone release, the company OnePlus is really popular in Europe and northern america, an additional 39% of their sales were in east Asia and 7% in India.

But the Device franchise will not be the only thing that OnePlus will be focussing on. Within the next 5 years the company is aiming to be one of the most popular and well-known software developers world-wide, for that goal they got their eyes on Silicon Valley and plan to recruit some fine developers there. The company’s OxygenOS, which is based on the Cyanogen Mod, will just be the first step on that ladder according to the CEO, Pete Lau.

In addition to that Bloomberg reports that OnePlus has two new models in the making process. This time we will see two different price segments, one of the Devices will be a slightly cheaper one which means that the OnePlus Two (let’s assume it will be called that) might be more expensive than the first Device which sold for around $300 in the beginning, but went slightly more expensive in the last few months. Unfortunately we don’t know very much about the new Phones, only that one might be revealed in the third quarter of 2015 and the second one by the end of the year. Of course at this point there are a lot of rumors about both Devices, but given the long time until they will be released those rumors will change quite a bit.

Anyways we will keep our eyes open to grab any strings to pull in some intel about those new Phones, so stay tuned.
