The korean times apparently knows the update schedules for the LG V10 and the G4

An unnamed korean official has reortedly toled the korean times that the popular 2015 phones, the LG V10 and the G4 will receive their share of Nougat this year. The LG V10 will go first in the second quarter, so some time from march to may, while the G4 will get the update in the third quarter , so some when from june to august. Initially there were no plans for updates for those devices, since there were compability problems, but it seems they have been sorted out. I assume that korea might be the first market that will get the update , but we have no word on that. I for one will be looking forward for the Update for my own V10.

Yesterday we reported live from the unveiling of the LG G4, now let’s talk a closer look at it.

In a quite small circle and a not so big event LG unveiled their latest Flagship Smartphone, the LG G4. The LG G4 is the latest Flagship from LG and comes with a lot of new features and design elements, all focused on the the user, to make life simpler for the consumer. The largest innovations in the G4 lie therefore hidden, but in plain sight. But we’ll be talking about those as we’re progressing. Let’s take a look at some of the key features of the LG G4.

First up is obviously the design of the device. The G4 comes in 2 finishes, and a couple of different color options. You can get the standard version with a plastic back cover that has a little diamond pattern on the back in black or silver with a metallic finish, or the premium version which comes with a genuine leather back. The leatherback comes in a light brown, black or a wine/dark red color as seen in the official pictures below.

Continuing our journey on the design of the device we notice the typical back buttons from the G series, the small bezel we know and love from the G3 and the huge screen on the front of the device, but that*’s not all. the LG G4 is a bit bent. We notice a small curving in the display, which provides a better handling and more comfort during long phone calls. But that is not the only reason for a curved screen like this. With this design feature the device will never land flat on any surface which makes it harder to crack the screen and therefore provides us with a better durability of the phone.

While we’re on the screen subject here, there is to know that in the LG G4, they used a new screen technology called IPS quantum Display, this technology is 20% brighter and has a 50% better contrast than it’s predecessor in the G3. Now people might ask themselves with that 5.5″ QHD display and those numbers and all, will that screen drain my battery? The answer is no. LG has developed, in cooperation with Qualcomm, some new Features to lower the power consumption on all its parts, so the screen actually uses 11% less Battery than the one used in the G3.

The next most notable thing about the G4 is the camera with it’s large image sensor and the f1.8 lens. A lens like this allows you to capture more light while taking a picture so that even in bad conditions you get great results. All of this is backed up by the new OIS that is built inside the device and regulated by the brand new color spectrum sensor, which recognizes the objects in the shot, the light conditions and color spectrums to automatically adjust the flash color, duration and other things for the best possible result. However if you know your way around a camera, you might be interested to know that with the LG G4 you get a manual picture mode, that allows you to adjust every detail, like ISO, shutter, white balancing and so on, and also you can save the image as a JPG or RAW file. A new quick launch option is implemented as well, when you double tap the rear button, the camera instantly takes a picture, so it#s easier to capture precious fast pacing moments. For the Selfie lovers out there, the gesture shot now can take 4 pictures in a row, so you can chose the one you like the most.

The last Thing I wanted to talk about is the new LG UX 4.0. LG’s user interface is one of the best i had a chance of using and it looks pretty nice and already had a lot of features, but with 4.0 we get quite a few more. The „G“ page (as I like to call it) at the end of the screens now offers the option of adding more LG widgets than just health and help. A quick search option makes it easier to search from any screen and the calendar and gallery got quite the few upgrades making it a lot easier to use the G4. I sure hope that the LG UX 4.0 will also be made available for the G3 in the near future.

After a lot of leaked images and specs, as well a quite a few teaser videos from LG, today is the day we finally get the first real look at the LG G4. The event is taking place in New York City so unfortunately we can’t be on the venue but we will be reporting everything that happens here. The Event starts at 5PM today. So stay tuned and be sure to check back as often as possible for every detail on the new korean Flagship, LG G4.

With only one day to the official launch, some more intel leaked regarding the pricing of the LG G4 in Germany.

Well the rumors about the prices of LG’s latest flagship have gone from „as much as the G3″ up to „a lot more than the S6″, well as the guys from WinFuture.de now dug up, the S6 statement is not entirely wrong, considering the now leaked prices for certain german retailers. As you see in the Gallery below the pricing ranges from 679€(which is about 10-20€ cheaper than the S6) up to 739€ which is a 30-40€ more than the S6, but still a lot less than the S6 Edge. The high priced Version is the leather Version though.

Hopefully tomorrow we will know how genuine those prices are, and when I can pre-order the phone or at least take a look at it.

With the LG G4 coming in a week a new Rumor about it’s display surfaced earlier today.

We already know a bit about the display that will be used in the LG G4, like the size of 5.5 inch and the fact that it will be QHD, but today a new intel leaked that the device will feature a slightly curved screen. The display will be curved along the height with a radius of around 3000mm, this might sound a lot but actually it is not. For example the Flex 2 comes with a bending radius of around 700mm which results in a quite stronger bend. This rumor is made pretty believable since LG already has two mid-range phones on the market sporting a similar bending. The question that most people might ask themselves now is why would that be a good idea? The answer to that is rather simple. With a curved Display along the height the LG G4 will be better optimized to the natural curving of your Head, which results in more comfort while using the device to make Phone calls, as well as giving it a better grip in your hand. Aside from all the comfort aspects the curved Screen will also be good in terms of duration since the device won’t fall directly flat on the entire screen but just a limited space so it won’t break that easily.

But at this point it is not 100% confirmed that the Device will have that Display, we will know more about in a week when the Lg G4 is officially unveiled.

On April 28th, LG will officially unveil the LG G4, but a korean analyst says that it won’t surpass the success of its predecessor.

So far there is quite something we know about the new Flagship from LG. The korean company allowed us to see how the Device looks like, what the camera will be capable of and what screen the Phone will use, also they unintentionally showed us the full spec list of their new Flagship Device. But that is not enough to surpass the 10 Million LG G3 Units that have been sold since its release.

According to the Analyst from IBK Investment & Securites one of the strong suits of the LG G4 is that others , like Samsung, ditched the removable Battery, but this won’t be enough since the G4 runs on a slower Version of the Snapdragon CPu , 808 instead of 810. Also there is the big question on when it will be available and how much it will be. Samsung has set the bar on prices quite high with the release of the Galaxy S6 Edge, but on the other Hand that Device offers a quite new Design and a new way of interacting. Another question is on how the new LG UI will be adapted by the community, i hope it will also be available for the G3 as well.

By the end of the month we will know more about the plans towards the LG G4 and I am really looking forward to the device since my personal phone at this point is the LG G3.

Earlier today we saw the QHD display, now we also know what the backside of the LG G4 will look like.

If LG goes on with this there won’t be anything new to show on the officiel release of the LG G4 at the end of the month. First we heard about the new UI, after that the 16 MP Camera with a 1.8f lens which was followed by the teaser Video of the 5.5″ QHD-IPS Display, and now we can see on the official LG Facebook page that the LG G4 will definitely come with a variety of leather back covers as well as regular covers that seem to be some kind of poly carbonate or plastic. The Image below shows what those will look like.

Alongside the pictures LG posted the following words:

Just some time ago LG released the first teaser of the LG G4, focussing on the Camer, now the QHD-Screen moves up.

Even though the LG G4 has been accidently revealed by a micro site of the Company(Source Pocketnow), LG is still teasing us with small videos highlighting some Features of its new Flagship Device. We have seen the camera and the beautiful backside of the LG G4 already in a few official shots and videos, now it’s time to check out the front of this beauty.

The latest teaser Video of the LG G4 shows the 5.5″ QHD IPS-Display of the Device. In the teaser it’s mentioned that we „deserve this“, and with „this“ they mean the new 25% brighter IPS-Panel with 20% more color variety, unfortunately now words on the battery life with that kind of Screen, but i guess we will know more about that in about 2 weeks, when the LG G4 will be officially revealed.
