Well I guess a few people like me are pumped that Cortana will now be on you Android Phones, but not for everyone, yet?

So today Microsoft released their digital personal Assistant „Cortana“ for Android Devices, but not everywhere unfortunately. I’ve read that people in the US can already get the Android Version of Cortana via the play store (here) but for others, like me in Germany, there might be a release in the future.

As soon as I can I will provide you with some footage of the features that Cortana has to offer. According to Microsoft you can do a few things, just like

• Set and get location and time reminders across your PC and phone.
• Track packages, flights, scores, stocks, and other important info across your PC and phone.
• Use Cortana’s Notebook to view, edit and manage your interests
• Get information and answers to all kinds of questions. If you’re looking for it, Cortana can help find it.
• Have a little fun in your down time — ask anything, get jokes, and much more

In addition to that Microsoft said that they have plans to work together with OnePlus to integrate Cortana into the Cynaogen OS, to allow the user to perform tasks just as shutting down the phone, activating WiFi or mobile Data and much more, just by asking her to do it for them.

On our little journey through the mysterious world of Windows Phone 8, we’re now encountering a nice new friend. Say Hello to Cortana.

At first I need to say that Cortana is still under development and, as you can see in the corner of the screen, is a Beta-version at this point, so don’t expect it to work instantly like Siri. So with that said, let’s move on to the real topic here. What/Who is cortana and what are here capabilities?The name Cortana originates in Microsoft’s Video Game series „Halo“, where cortana is the artificial intelligence that guides the main protagonist through the game, although our Cortana here does not posses her set of skills, she is still really helpful and fun to be around. The main features that the Voice assistant offers are web searches, check ins, location questions, jokes, reminders and so on. It offers the base features that all voice assistant apps provide so far, but with a nice and friendly voice, unlike Samsung’s S Voice. I’m really excited what will happen in the future and if we’re soon able to have conversations with Cortana the way we can interact with Siri, but that might have to wait until Windows 10 or later, but nevertheless I’m stoked on what will happen.
